      Governance & Accountability

In developing its administrative structures, organizational policies and operating procedures, Avivara has been guided by its core values which are contained in its Mission and Philosophy Statement. These core values include:

Avivara is fully committed to adhering to the laws and regulations of the countries in which it operates, maintaining ethical and just employment practices, following the standards for generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), and consistently acting in accordance with the ethical standards established for non-profit charitable organizations as outlined in the the Better Business Bureau Standards for Charitable Accountability and for study abroad educational programs as established by the Forum on Education Abroad.

is a non-profit charitable corporation registered in the State of Washington, USA,
and a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible public charity registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service.
 Asociacion Avivara is a registered tax-exempt non-profit organization (NGO) in the Republic of Guatemala.

Contributions to Avivara are tax-deductible in the U.S. as permitted by law.
