Also, if you pay the $10.00 suggested donation, that entitles you to either two free beverages at our no-host bar and one raffle ticket to win a beautiful Guatemalan craft item, or one free beverage at the bar and three raffle tickets. You get to choose when you arrive.

You can help Avivara cover the costs of this event by making a suggested donation of $10/person via the Paypal button below, or at the door when you arrive at the event.

  • Benefit concert by Javier Howard Anderson (3 sets: 6:00-6:20, 6:30-7:15, 7:15-8:00)
  • Salsa dancing lessons after the concert (with Andres Arteaga, 8:00-9:00)
  • Guatemala craft items for sale
  • No-host bar (beer, wine, soft drinks, free coffee, tea)
  • Central American food for sale (e.g., tacos, pico de gallo, rice and beans)
  • "Faces of Guatemala" photography images by Mark Hussein
  • Chat with Avivara staff and Board members

Award winning photographer, Mark Hussein, will also be at our event and showcasing images from his "Faces of Guatemala" series. These prints will be for sale and part of the proceeds will go to help support the programs of Avivara.

Andres Arteaga, salsa instructor extraordanaire and Director of Inclusion and Equity Education at Villa Academy will conduct salsa dancing lessons from 8:00-8:15, and from then until 9:00 you can dance until your socks fall off.
